I'm Nadine, a Somerset based artist specialising in animal portraits in coloured pencil and pastel pencils.
I have 'O' and 'A' levels in Art and Design , a HND in graphic design and a Batchelor of Education in Art.
For many years my career took a very different path but I am so glad I have found art again and to produce art work I love and hope you love too.
Having grown up with animals as a child then Wilson our border terrier , Freddie and Jackson, the tabby cats and now Sully our crazy Patterdale Terrier I know the joy animals can bring and how quickly become part of the family.
I just love to draw all animals. I love to capture the cheekiness, love and soul, the essence of that connectivity between animal and their human. So whether the portrait is for a loved one, a memorial piece or just for you, each drawing I produce is given the same amount of love.
My aim is to capture the characteristics and personality of the animal I draw and to evoke a positive reaction of sheer joy by the recipient.
I use different mediums when I produce my art work, lightfast coloured pencils, pastel pencils, soft pastels plus graphite pencil. I only use high quality materials.
The most popular size drawing is generally produced on A4 size paper but I can accommodate any size, just specify the size required upon contact. All finished commissions are mounted in a mountboard frame.
I also paint in acrylics on canvas in a size of your choosing or in watercolour paints on high grade acid free watercolour paper
Should you require an abstract painting in acrylics and mixed media I can accommodate you Just send me your idea or photograph. This tryptic using acrylics, spray paints and oil pastels was painted during an art course using Steam Punk as a reference

The gorgeous French bulldog has been completed in pastel pencils and took roughly 11 hours to complete.
